Subject: Going from newer home to older home

Right now we live in a newer subdivision (15 years old) and we live in a 2500 sq ft home on a 40 ft x 100 ft lot.

With a 20 month old and hopefully another on the way, we just got thinking about something a bit larger and a more functional layout.  So we saw a 29 year old, 3200 sq ft house on a bigger property (45 x 130 pie shaped larger in rear) that looks interesting.

Schools / shopping / work commute is a wash - all are equal both places.

My question is, is giving up 19 years going backwards?  This house has new shingles and looks like its been through the first wave of renos.

Note that newer homes on bigger lots are considerably more expensive so that's out.
