Subject: RE: Plumbing

I realize I am late to the dance here but here is my 2 cents

IF your doing any updating/remodeling what so ever,,,do yourself a world of favor and update ALL metal pipes in the house. Pex on the supply side with each their own run,,with their own 1/4 turn shut off where you can reach it best. On the size issue bigger is not better so go 1/2 inch for shower/tub/vanity faucets on both the hot and cold side. Some put 3/4 and you have to run 3 times as much water to get it hot. 1/2" is all one faucet can use anyway

On the drain side put twice as many clean-outs than you think you need. If you dont you will need them,,,if you do you never will,,,maybe. Snap the cast stack off just above the floor OR if you have laundry or stool drains under the concrete floor replace that cast too. 2" to laundry, sinks and showers and 3 or 4" all the way thru the roof. Even if it requires a small amount of wall removal and replacement.

there are two kinds of metal pipes

#1 Those that leak

#2 Those that are going to leak/plug up soon

Also

#3 Most metal drain pipes are 80% plugged as we speak.

#4 most metal supply pipes are mostly plugged too
