NC Iowa

Mine is different then most.

Couple big cans of cubed/crushed/petite tomatoes, couple small cans of stewed/ fire roasted, whatever I find.
One red onion
One or two red or orange peppers, depends on size.
Garlic clove
Chili powder to taste, usually 2-3 big tablespoons.
1-1.5 lbs cooked hamburger
1-2 big tablespoons of brown sugar.  It will get sweeter with time, easy to over do it when its hot and cooking.

It ends up being thick, I don't like tomato soup chili with hamburger.
