Subject: Acra plant V Shot furrow firmer

SW MINNESOTA
Just bought a new to me 1770nt planter. It is currently set up with acra plant V shot furrow firmers. After doing a search on here they don't seem to be NAT approved cause some claim you get too much seed trench compaction. I talked to the previous owner and he claims he had some of his best stands since installing them and claims to never have problems with them. He did run copperhead spiked wheels on closing wheels. Is it possible they overcame and issues caused by them? Will be running in worked ground most of the time with an occasional no till bean field. Should I look at something like replacing them with totally tubular fertilizer tubes or run what I have?
