Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
The above posts are all correct. When I used an actual digital camera, I would remove the SD card and read the files with a computer with that type of card reader or an addon USB card reader.

I now have an Apple iPhone. I use the USB to lightning cable that came with it to transfer the pictures to my camera. My computer is setup now to automatically copy the pictures to a special folder on my computer whenever I plug the iPhone in.

For example, this morning I plugged the iPhone in to recharge it while I dwell here. The first thing that happens is the recent photos are shown on the computer screen and I can decide if I want them copied or not. Even if they are copied into the computer they still remain on the iPhone.

I can chose to delete them on the iPhone if I desire to do so.
