northeastern Ohio | Way back when all this was new and exciting to me (maybe around 2003?), I paid $750 to a company named EarthScan for a single satellite image. They offered analysis tools and it seemed like a great idea. Unfortunately, the day they took the photo had several clouds floating over my fields and so many acres were worthless as far as data went. No refunds. I was never able to get any useful data from any of it. They went out of business a couple years later and if you had any useful data, it disappeared with them because the imagery was on their servers.
Anyhow, I did take a look at this company's beta. Monthly images are nice, but a lot of them are poor quality. Even the good quality images are poor resolution and would never be useful to me. But here is an interesting comparison that I've never seen before. I've never seen a winter image before and it was fun to compare it to a summer. Look at how all the snow cover remained on the northeast sides of wooded areas and fencerows:
