Hanna IN | The reason why I want to scale my business this way is because we do not have a lot of big farm operations in my area. The average farm size in my area is 750 acres. Not many people have heard of the drone technology in my area and are just now becoming familiar with the concept. As for having a fixed wing in the air cheaper than my $2 acre flight rate I don't see how it can be. With aviation fuel costs and the planning and time to perform the operation a drone would make more sense. A fixed wing would have its advantages in covering more acres at one time but what I want to do is offer a quick, cheap, and simple field scouting technique where the grower can know how is crops are doing within 1-2 hours instead of 1-2 days. | |
