Well, not knowing what size of area you are trying to cover here are a couple ideas:

You could fly up and visually look at the scar, then land and try to draw a rough boundary on the app.

Or, what I think I'd recommend is this. You obviously know the boundary of your field.  I'd fly the entire field if possible.  Load it to DD, then after it is done processing you can adjust the boundary to match the scar. Here are the documents telling how to do this. Adjust Map Boundaries.

edit: The instructions are a little out of date, but when viewing the map you'll click in the top area where it says the map name, how many acres.  It will drop down and then In the Map Area section you'll see the crop boundary button.
