Subject: JD 310D backhoe wiring question

Lexington, KY
I have a a 310d that has actied a bit crazy of late. When i fire the engine the charge light comes on and the tach is dead. Increasing the rpm slightly and the light goes off and the tach starts working. Also i have no power to the horn front or rear lights, flashers, or the horn switch. I can also turn the key off and back on quickly without letting the engine die and the light will stay off but i cant get any power to any ofvthe light switches.
Given that the tach runs off the alternator I suspected it to be bad but both with the charge light on and with it off the output at the alternator is 14.2 volts.
Also there are no indications the batteries are not being charged as it starts well.
All terminals on the switch that should be powered have 12v coming out.
Grounds all seem to be well attached

Any ideas or experience.

Thanks in advance
Patrick
