Iowa | Picked up a new piece of ground that has some reclaimed coal mines on it, previous guy farming it said the iron sulfide (I believe is what it's called, the orange junk from the coal mine water) was plugging tile 6" tile and making big wet spots below the pond so he just dug an open ditch to dry things out. I will attach a picture so you guys can see how it all lays out. Pond is on top of a ridge goes out an over flow on the north side and then goes into a drainage ditch on the west side. You can kind of see the ditch dug up though the field. We want to farm it all as one piece with no ditch but how do we keep tile working? Will a 12" main solve the issue or just put plugging off an extra year or two? What's a good permanent solution?
