Subject: Drying White Corn

Thinking about trying some white corn in the future. We've never done it but there's plenty of people locally that do. Biggest management difference as far as I can tell is fungicide is a must, currently we only spray fungicide if it looks absolutely necessary.

Looking at putting this corn in a bin. Lots of guys around here run them thru a top dry or slowly thru a continuous flow dryer. No dryer option for us. Our new bins do have fans that are supposed to be sized for air drying. 1-15hp fan on a 30' 16k bushel bin and 2-15hp fans on a 42' 32k bushel bin. Anyone ever tried air drying white corn before?

Everything I've heard is that white corn gets down to 18% relatively quick but getting it to 15-16% in the field takes forever.
