Subject: Repowering a kinze finger unit

mid Illinois
I am in the process of rebuilding my kinze finger pickup units with precision planting parts. First thing I noticed was a wave type spring washer under the adjusting nut. Would you eliminate this washer, as some other units did not have this washer? And what would be the best way to set these in your experience. From searching, I have found several different methods. One says 22-25 in lbs rolling torque, some say 15 in/lbs. Another says .006" clearance under the carrier. Thanks for any help.
