If you can work something out that makes sense what happens if he has a heart attack and dies part way through ??? Would make more sense to me is that he finances the cows over the 5 years, you lease the farm for that long and maybe try to get some kind of deal as far as buying the land. I believe you indicated before you are in the Drumbo area, wide range of land prices in that area , some really productive ground that I would guess would bring 10-15 K and then maybe some wore out tobacco ground that could never really be bought cheap enough. I would just hate to see anyone put the 5 years in and wind up with nothing. Other thing, has he actually been to an accountant, some of these guys don't really understand how it will shake out and will spend dimes to save nickels. |
