When process the old cows I buy, we pour them with permethrin or cylence pour on to knock down the lice and apply a cheap permethrin fly tag to keep them down. Been doing this for several years and has worked well. Keeps them lice free all winter.
Even though may be old cows they are not lousy cows. LOL
