WC MN | I do not think that fertilizer prices, unless they were contracted last fall, will be much cheaper than last year. Locally urea is $350 and sneaking higher. Insurance price is going to give another $10-$15 of guarantee on the average farm. Seed is static, rent is static, fuel is up, insurance will probably be similar, chemical has dropped a touch possibly. I guess I do not see why everyone thinks that corn will pencil so much better than last year. I do agree that we plant 92+ million acres though because that is what farmers like to do. | |
