ESW ND | Can't say about your hay mix, but we run our 2nd cutting alfalfa through the tub grinder with 1" and 2" screen, then into the grinder/mixer at 1/4"(I think) screen. We crack/grind oats, barley, peas in it first. Then add the alfalfa. The grain keeps it flowing in the mixer as well as in the self feeders. We do this for our calves and lambs. Right or wrong, it's what is done here.
Good you got a steady paying job. We didn't have an ag program in our school and we were 99.9% farm/ranch kids that went there. | |
