I don't know why my reply went after yours. It was in reply to message .....115 or whatever number the original posters comment was. Look at the reply number.
I guess 45 miles west of Pierre I consider central sd still. Yes. West river. But still almost 200 mi from wy. Hence not western.
Is that not where diamond ring farm is located? Roughly .... Where the auction was?
I will say I know one guy who came from the "east" and turned out just fine running that ground. And is far from broke. .....
As far as locals not wanting anything to do with the land..... You don't have have to explain it to me. It should have cattle running on it. If it worked for production ag. They wouldn't be looking for a new renter every yr.
I scratch my head every time I see corn farther west into sd the last 10 yrs.
