It is pretty standard here to use Li700 (or generic equivalent) as a surfactant with spray mixes containing glyphosate . My understanding is this is because it tends to acidify our elevated pH water to some degree, and assists in drift reduction, also to some degree, assists droplet adhesion, spreading and penetration etc etc. But then there is Liberate. I have no previous exposure to this product but I see it is neutral pH , so does nothing to acidify. Otherwise its claims to do what Li 700 does. Liberate was suggested to me as a product to increase the rainfastness of Glyphosate, but I am wondering if it really is significantly any better than Li700, and what I gain on the swings I might lose on the roundabouts. I haven't compared product cost yet. In either case Ammonium Sulfate is standard addition also. Any knowledge or informed opinions on this subject out there...? |
