When building a home if a basement is not in the budget. Would you build a home with concrete pad for the first floor or have a wooden floor with a crawl space. If I did the concrete I would probably do floor heat but would it be to hard to walk on over time? Is there some sort of pad to put underneath hard wood floor to make it easier to walk on?
Have you done the price comparisons? I'm wanting to put on an addition and don't want a basement. As you get older its nice to keep things on one floor. Was thinking of going with a crawl space but maybe if a slab would be a lot cheaper it might be the way to go? |
