| Per your post and example are asked to take surveys. I dont ever remember filling stuff out for the dealership...and I KNOW my boss / owner never did.
Example...Mining industry, automotive mfr's, electronics, oil producing...etc. I am pretty sure the big " cheeses, and bean counters " at the top would laugh away at someone disclosing their production numbers.
In answer to OP question, if required by law, then I fill them out, got one a couple of years ago, took like 15-20 minutes, then once in a while I might get one from Ohio State University or Purdue, and depending what they are after, I might fill those out.
I also agree that the end user uses selective data to make the results they want.
I wont do them over a phone anymore. I usually ask the person " Are you getting paid to do this survey ? " to their response.."yes", then " Am I getting paid to do this survey " their reply..." well.....no", then I usually say " Get the point, or See ya, "
