North East Wimmera district of Victoria.

Same thoughts in down under Aussy!   [ But I think they - Govt statistics forms - are more or less compulsory ]

Seem to remember a farming couple who were speaking at an "Innovation" workshop. Hearing from those who had gone out on a limb and tried something different - case in point was raising turkeys.

The lady said when they were building up their knowledge of what sort of markets were available, and what consumption figures were available, she reckoned our Dept of Agriculture was absolutely NO help.

So  - later when a questioner asked about these Govt statistic forms she said - "I fill them in - but what I put in there is dummy facts and figures! - They did not help us, so why should we help them!".

Can't see how bad figures can make surveys "more accurate!"
