North Central Illinois | The basic concept of the wall sounds great. Keep unwanted illegal immigrants out of the USA. Sounds great right? Unfortunately this has the potential to be one of the biggest boondoggles in the history of the country if we attempt to build it. For starters we know it will cost an unfathomable amount of money even though the ding bat in chief assures us he is a great negotiator and can get it done on the cheap. The companies that win contracts to build the wall would undoubtedly have connections to people in high places that allowed them to get the contract. So we have corruption there. If the wall were ever completed it is extremely unlikely that it would solve the problem it was designed for. Illegals will find ways around, over, or under the thing. It would create a whole new dimension of corruption with money changing hands in the form of bribes to someone to allow illegals to cross. That would be the ultimate humiliation for the USA to spend billions on this wall, alienate many of our trade partners, and then have it be ineffective. All so a bunch us can feel good about giving Mexico the finger by building the wall. Is it worth it? I highly doubt it. In fact I would be willing to bet that it will cause far more harm than good. | |
