As always politicians try to get out in front of issues like they are somehow leading. There are other moving parts that could result in Mexico buying less US corn that would happen even if no one said anything.

As always consider our current markets are not following typical grain fundamentals, but, instead, the fundamentals of the trade which has to do with finding an "investment home" for money. The trade loves volatility and markets can move on what might be considered unrelated news. Something like this might give the trade a reason to sell off and make money so they can later start reowning and make some money. Of course sophisticated market analysts will blame trump, bush along with the price of tea in China and folks will get all riled up when it's just the trade doing it's thing. "misdirection Stanley"
