Subject: RE: Hearing aids

Cleveland, MS. Own small farm near Booneville, MS

My wife has been through several of different brands, some in ear and some behind. What she has now is the best so far. I believe they are ReSound and go behind the ear with an almost invisible tube connecting to the part that goes in the ear. Her's are programmable with her iPhone as well as the technician being able to set some parameters with the computer in the doctor's office. I think they run in the neighborhood of $6,000/set. Not sure of the exact cost because of a government program that pays for part of it but I know they are expensive. To some people that may not be much $$ but to me it is.

My wife has been dealing with ever increasing hearing loss since at least the early 1990s. Her advice is that the best thing you can do is find a very good audiologist, regardless of the brand they sell. They are few and far between but worth their weight in gold when you find one. Lots of advances being made in hearing aid technology almost daily.
