Subject: Replacing front pinion seal on Cas IH 8920

Am replacing pinion seal on front mfd axle....have tech manual and it describes preload process...is this necessary when replacing seal and not bearings?

Also,,,new seal is a two piece seal,,,,am unfamiliar with theses,,,any advice help or advice appreciated.......tech manual only describes a traditional one piece seal
