Is anybody using a CMMS system? I want to get an electronic database to track repairs rather than the index cards I inherited from my dad.

My 2 stipulations are:

It must be cloud based, so I can setup my shop guys as individual users and access it from their phones.

It also must allow them to input a part number used to make a repair. Many that I have looked at, you had to have the parts listed in "inventory" and then the mechanic could select a quantity of a given part number to attach to a work record. My ultimate goal is I want to be able to look back at the repair history and let the guys re-order parts based on the previously used numbers to save confusion and time.

And affordable would be nice.

Me - - - I would setup a database system on my own server and enjoy the added security that you COULD set up.
Might be some more work but then you would get what you want. Its only time after all! (Grin! I, too am finding too little useful software out there!)
