Quick description of my network then I'll explain the problem. Frontier DSL comes into the house in the living room to a Frontier provided router. Our Roku, a networked printer (309) and a long ethernet cable are connected to it. Cable runs to my office to a hub which then splits to a laptop (Windows 10), a desktop (Windows 7) and another networked printer (6500). There is a laser printer connected by USB to the office computers. We also have a Macbook Pro, a iPad, and a Windows 10 laptop wirelessly connecting to the network. My W7 machine doesn't have internet access. When I take the cable from the router out of the hub and connect to the computer I have access. I tried replace the jumper cable, no luck I replaced the hub with a new one. Worked one day not the next. Today I took cable out of the hub and plugged into computer and I'm up and running again. So is this likely a computer problem or a router problem? |
