Subject: RE: Laser printers

Southeast South Dakota
at my primary job we have a large tabloid size okidata workhorse laser -
it has sat not turned on for probably two years - we can fire it up - all colors are beautiful...... but it is like said - $600 or more for the 4 toner cartridges alone - and there are drums, waste tanks, fusers, developers, etc.

At home I have a Brother INKJET - a few years old. all in one tabloid size. I dont expect color matching photo quality - so I buy generic $2 ink catrdiges off amazon to always have a backup.

Sometimes I will go probably several months without printing - if that happens sometimes I have to run the cleaning once, or sometimes twice before black and all the colors are printing perfect again - then it is good for another mon or inactivity -

This is all using generic cheap repalcement inks -

I would definitely buy another one like it - think it is like an 1140 or so

Added: My daughter has a cheapie brother printer that goes to college - it sits over summer not plugged in - clean it up and away it goes the next year - also running ink cartridges that are $2 or $3 max
