Been  there for  years and I probably spend more time on FB than agtalk. To me FB is just another discussion forum with even more diverse possibilities. No matter how rare or obscure your interests might be,chances are  there is  a  facebook page devoted to that  subject. If not,  you can start your own  page. I've done it.  I'll admit the advertising and clickbait has become pretty heavy at times but you can train your eyes and brain to skim over that stuff. I've met some good and helpful people there. 
I guess if you are the type of person that gets bent out of shape over political or religious comments you might get into a few arguments there. I don't Its no use arguing against a closed mind and sometimes you just have to shake your head and move on.
