Central, IA | Tank style water heaters don't like going from cold to hot. Condensation forms on the tank flue until it gets warm enough. Fine for occasional use, but will shorten life if it is done regularly.
I would look at a Takagi tankless water heater. The jr model can be had for $500 and has a 140kbtu burner, giving you instant hot water. Not sure how easy they are to drain though. | |
