Subject: Bull with back leg injury

north central ky
I noticed on Friday that one of my 3 year old bulls was carrying his back leg. Him and another bull are in with 55 cows on a steep pasture that has become pretty slick with all of the recent rains. Im sure he slipped while working or him and the other bull were pushing each other around. I don't notice any swelling in the leg or foot. I got the vet to come down Saturday and we looked at his foot and didn't see any thing wrong. The vet pushed around on the leg and observed and listened to him walking and didn't hear any popping or cracking. I did not give him any meds in case he needs to go to slaughter. My vet said even if it does heal that it would probably happen again. What would you guys do? Haul him off? Fatten him back up and get him walking better and sell or slaughter? He has lost a lot of weight over the past 2 months running with the cows. He might be in the 1500-1600# range now.
