Southeast Colorado
It seems to me that it is very short sighted for farmers in the USA to only be worried about farms. Our country has been in a massive trade deficit for years and it's about time we remedy this. Besides.............it also seems to me that most all of the grains produced in the world get used every year. If another country chooses to shop for grain somewhere else then it opens up our options to new customers when whoever gets all of that business runs out. South America cannot supply the world with corn and beans. I'm not for becoming a protectionist country but at the same time we are pretty much the largest consuming economy and that has to give you some clout but instead we keep getting walked on. You cannot run massive trade deficits forever. We are such a spoiled society to assume that somehow we can get away without changing things.
