Blackstock, Ont | Gaggia Platinum here, about 7 years old. It can grind beans as well as steam milk. Not overly happy with the machine. Lots of little things wrong with the design but does make a decent cup of espresso. Make at least 3 shots a day. If you are a Sams club or Costco member I suggest purchasing from there due to their liberal return policy as well as w/a. We had about 3 cheaper (under 400 machines) prior to purchasing this one. The cheaper ones dont quite have the pressure to produce good espresso. Nothing wrong with a stovetop version and when this one finally gives up the ghost will probably go back to stove top made espresso.
