upabovefarms - 1/22/2017 17:17 If you sign over the grain, why would they increase the prices they are paying over the winter? Higher futures, lower basis

The storage and load out fees are structured so that it isn't possible to come out ahead of their crappy bid if you want possession of your grain.     Once they have the grain in their possession (no matter if they own it or not) they have NO reason to increase their bid.

We used to have one coop that had a decent bean bid, then they merged with a couple other coops and you can guess what happened to the decent bid.    Storage rates went up and the grain bids went down.

I'm trying hard to never deliver un-priced grain ever again.
