Subject: Pennycress as a biofuel?

Central NE

In response to the below post, questioning if the plant in the picture was marestail, picture really makes it look like wide, non pointed leaves, which here, marestail has narrow pointy leaves.

I'm not posting to argue what it is. But from the responses on pennycress (I now know how it's spelt) I thought I'd plaster this post with some screen shots.

In the photo I posted of not tilling beans into corn stalks with the majority of the field covered with the above plant, using a tractor with a digital tachometer, I can say the soil was, what I would call more mellow. Entering or exiting the areas of mass quantities of pennycress cover, the rpm's of the tach would increase or decrease 200-300 rpm. This was with only pulling 15 row units. I had a talking to from my mentor (father), about needing to get in there and eradicate before the planting season. This was not the first field or year that I left it to grow.

Call me what you will, but I'm considering double cropping with beans.
