Subject: The 6-10 day really flipped Midwest or Texas drought?

Even though we have excellent subsoil moisture down here. I have a bad feeling about this year. The wind has howled 45 mph out of the south this January with many record breaking highs . Even with the 40 mph wind out of the north this morning it is not even cold. Down here we usually run a 6 year drought cycle 1984, 1990, 1996, then some minor drought until the last major drought in 2011.On a 6 year cycle this does not look very optimistic for 2017. We usually do not have a drought the same year as the midwest so you northerners may sleep well. But on the other hand the midwest had major droughts in 1983 , followed by our texas drought in 1984, then the midwest had major drought in 1988 followed by our drought starting fall of 1989 and peaking in 1990.

So who gets it first the midwest or Texas?

I do not plan to forward contract any grain this year. It will be futures only.

Shoot and run or is it shoot and hide it is the only way to win the battle?
