I found a 2 year old spine deep in "quicksand" or whatever you otherwise call the mud when a pond dries out. Her calf was old enough to fend for himself, so there was a little consolation there. But after raising them, breeding and successfully calving it does hurt my feelings. It happens to us all though.
Even better than that. On Saturday I sold 10 black heavy bred cows with solid or maybe short solid mouth. Guy call and says #33 died 3 days later. I have had 33 for 3 years and she raises a calf every year, was easygoing as they come and fat as a tick. What the heck? | |
