Sorry didn't mean to get off topic. Identify what you think are your best cows and expand upon those cows. There is no real way of measuring efficiency other than calf 205 day weights and if she come back in bred up on time. Every management makes different kind and style of cow work. Some do a better job than others. A lot depends on what you like and what you think you like. Efficiency will forever be a thought provoking question with every producer having a different opinion. That's what makes cattle raising so different and interesting. If we all agreed one breed, shape, form, of a cow would be the best, it wouldn't make the profession we are in very fun. Just saying. I think it comes down to your personal preference on what you want a cow to look like and what kind of calf works for you. Granted every environment is different. As another poster commented there are a lot of traits more important than debating efficiency.
