You have a lot of questions but I'll address one. Sell the thin cows? It seems like my thin cows are the best milking ones with the biggest calves every year. So as long as they breed back on time they stay but they look a little rough. It really pisses me off when that always fat cow raises a dumpy little calf. She goes. My theory has been that you need to find the cattle that work under your environment, your management ability and your resources. Those things are different at everyone of our places.
