Here is a picture from a few days ago and another picture taken in the same spot during the drought in 2015. It was taken 3 days before the governor shut down the river to prior law appropriations for the first time since February 2nd 1848.
By contrast in January of 1997 the leeve across the river had a 300' hole and was about a foot from overtopping where I am standing in the picture. In 1983 it was about 2 or 3' from the top of the leeve.
In 1977 we could drive across the river and in 1992 we could walk across.
