over taxed nebraska | 5.5% sales tax. unprepared food is exempt. prepared is taxed. finally got sales tax off of ag parts couple years ago. state income tax is around 15% of your federal liability additional. for some reason we cant tax something everybody buys--food
we pay personal property tax on our equip too, comes in envelope right with land tax.
wont be long before unicameral has us paying tax on seed, fert, chems too. while big cities soak up the sales tax take, subsidizes their infrastructure construction while small town America is starved out. all talk about trying to keep rural America healthy.... o.k help them out with the tax take instead of robbing them to send to the cities.
damn this subject fires me up !
my friends from Missouri cant believe what we are paying. pasture tax in southeast ne that supports a pair, 3-4 acres is 40-50. Missouri, same stocking pair/acres around $2/acre. all profits taken away by "the good life"
