An adjoining neighbor planted it & the SL pollen crossed with our plants across the fence. But, as you point out, there wasn't a deficit of corn then, or with the Syngenta export problem caused by less than fully approved corn. The usual delivery point was just shifted. Your SL corn & our SL corn couldn't go into corn flakes. It had to go into feed. No corn was lost...just shifted. Same w/Syngenta deal. If China needed 1,000,000 bus of corn, they still got it. I don't think anything was dumped into harbors that removed the corn from the food chains. |
