So I am understanding correctly you are able to get on the internet through the WIFI? Most of the time if you have having trouble connecting to your in home/business network the cable is to blame. You may want to try shielded Ethernet cable with as long of a run as you are describing. With non-shielded cable any radio signal/wave or electrical impulse can interfere with the data that is being transmitted, shielded cable solves those issues. As said before you will want to turn on internet sharing to make sure that there are no issues where one computer is blocking the other from accessing the internet. It might be easier to hook that Ethernet cable right into the air card receiving the WIFI signal. Doing so may make it impossible to access/transfer files from one computer to the other, but I am not 100% sure on this.
