Never underestimate the propensity of people to make a decision or take an action that is completely contrary to their best interest. Jack Ma of Alibaba just presented at Davos. He said:" If I had to lose my company to prevent a trade war between the US & China, I would do it." Obviously, Ma has a lot to lose in a trade war but he also understands that it isn't good for either the US or China to go down that road.
