I have used a Trimble 332 unlocked for Omni and more recently a GeoSteer in a different tractor unlocked for Omni as well. This was mostly for planting. I've gotten along quite well through the years with Omni. Last year I had a field where I had some issues that I still haven't figured out. After finishing the field, I went to another field and everything was fine. The fields were close to each other.
I had heard that many in my area had lots of problems with Omni this last year. Based on advice from reliable sources, I went with Ag Leaders trade-up offer and traded in my GeoSteer for SteerCommand. The 6500 is unlocked for Terrastar which is a competitor to Omnistar. The payment structure and unlock game seems to be very similar. I have only used the SteerCommand for fall tillage so far but it has worked well. Next year's planting will be the true test. |
