Central Illinois | I have NO idea how USDA gathers info on foreign grain production. I assume that with friendly countries, they send ????? "experts" to view the crops, but that might be like looking for a needle in a hay stack. Some foreign countries probably wouldn't let you out of town. I honestly don't know.
I am sure they use satellite imagery for all countries, but to me, that has some serious limitations that would have to be backed up by "boots on the ground". | |
