Oh for crying out loud. Get off the cheap food policy crap. That argument is extremely outdated. The price of food the consumer pays is tied very distantly to the price we receive for our crops. Generally when there is a run up in grain prices retailers use it as an excuse to raise their prices but when grain prices drop you don't see much of a drop in the grocery store. In other words the price of the food that goes into a consumer's mouth is very little affected by the price of corn be it $2 or $4. Same for beans. $8 beans versus $11 beans have very little impact on the consumer. Blaming the government for trying to keep grain prices down to control food prices is like a lot of other government conspiracy theories. Bogus!
