A 8370R is factory claimed 313hp PTO at rated engine speed which in this case is 2100 engine RPM or 1050 PTO RPM. When you study the test results here you'll see it makes very close to claimed power at rated speed BUT, will make quite a bit more peak power at a lower RPM. Advertised horsepower by the OEM is almost never peak power but rather at "rated RPM". I'm not sure how they come up with this rated RPM, nor why they dont just advertise max power but it's a cause of confusion. http://tractortestlab.unl.edu/John%20Deere%208370RT%20e23%20FT4.pdf

The 8370r tested 50HP over factory claimed HP.

16% over is pretty impressive.
The 8360 wheel tractor was similarly strong at Nebraska.

RT down about 10 at the PTO: http://www.tractordata.com/farm-tractors/006/7/2/6720-john-deere-8360rt-tests.html
