Subject: s680 conveyor auger drive shaft slip clutch and gear settings.

Have a couple questions here. I am in the process of replacing the conveyor auger bulkhead, and conveyor auger drive shaft.

#1. I know the gear backlash is supposed to be set to 1/32. But my question is, the front auger mount holes are somewhat slotted for up/down movement. Does it matter where these conveyor augers are set up/down? Because this will affect backlash. There is maybe 1/8 inch of vertical movement on the auger plates. Also drive shaft has maybe an 1/16-1/8 of movement on it as well, just depends where I tighten bolts on flanges.

#2 What is the best way for tightening the pulley on the conveyor auger drive shaft. Book says 185 ft/lbs but I'm just slipping the clutch when using a torque wrench. Is rattling it on with an impact to roughly 200 satisfactory?
