SC KS | So my current equipment is 12 row gladiator strip till, 12 row 7300 planter, and a 1997 great plains solid stand drill. My planter has been planting all our corn, milo, and beans. Does a good job, but as our operation has grown does slow us down and get a lot of ware each year. Drill is a conventional tI'll on 7.5". I would like a no till drill to no till milo, beans, dc beans and millet but realizing it may not be in the budget. Im wanting to utilize drill more so I can cover more acres in beans. Try and get canopy sooner with narrower rows. Split work load on 2 different tractors. Also keep ware on planter down.
If I don't get a no till drill i was thinking what about strip tilling milo and bean ground and using drill to plant with. I would "twin roe" on 30's in sorts, 2 rows open and two rows closed. Think my canopy would be better or not? Any concerns? | |
